Entre los 4 y los 7 años, los niños aprenden a pronunciar los sonidos de su idioma — y notar a tiempo cuándo un sonido cuesta más de la cuenta puede marcar una gran diferencia en su lectura, su escritura y su confianza al hablar. EarlySkills estudia cómo maestros, especialistas del habla y familias hispanohablantes usan herramientas de inteligencia artificial para observar mejor, desde el aula o desde casa, la manera en que los niños pronuncian cuando hablan. El reto es real: la mayoría de estas tecnologías no entiende bien la riqueza del español que se habla en cada país — y esta investigación busca cambiar eso. Es un estudio para comprender experiencias y mejorar prácticas — no es un producto clínico ni una herramienta de diagnóstico.

Between ages 4 and 7, children learn to pronounce the sounds of their language — and noticing in time when a sound is harder than it should be can make a real difference in their reading, writing and confidence when speaking. EarlySkills studies how Spanish-speaking teachers, speech specialists and families use artificial intelligence tools to better observe, from the classroom or from home, the way children pronounce when they speak. The challenge is real: most of these technologies do not handle the rich diversity of Spanish spoken across countries — and this research aims to change that. It is a study to understand experiences and improve practices — not a clinical product or a diagnostic tool.
